Beyond photos: how to teach children the beauty of diversity

An emotional article about solo travel, cultural diversity and educating children through travel coloring books.

My love for travel began when I was very young, sitting next to my grandparents while they told me stories about the world.
Years later, after visiting more than 100 countries — often on my own — travel has become the most transformative school of my life.

Solo Travel: The Freedom to Observe

Traveling alone has opened my eyes in ways I never expected.
When I walk through Japan, Africa or Dubai by myself, I’m never distracted.

I notice details: how people dress, how they speak, the rituals of daily life, the smells of their food.

Solo travel made me more patient, more open, more curious.
And every time I returned home, I wanted to share that wonder — especially with children.

But Photos Aren’t Enough

We show kids our travel photos… but they lose interest after two minutes.
Images are not enough to open their imagination.

So I asked myself:

How can I plant the seed of curiosity in a child?
How can I help raise conscious, open-minded future travelers?

Children Learn by Doing

That’s why I created the Kids World Travel Collection.

Not simple coloring pages — but a way for children to travel with their imagination:

✔️ A lion teaches them about Africa
✔️ An Arctic fox introduces the North Pole
✔️ A kimono explains cultural traditions
✔️ A temple shows them a world far from their bedroom

Color becomes a passport.
Drawing becomes discovery.

The Best Gift? The Horizon.

When my son was a kid, the most meaningful gift I brought back from every journey wasn’t a toy — it was the horizon.
The chance to dream bigger.

Today, through the Lapland Kit, the Arctic Animals Bundle and all the coloring books in the Kids World Travel Collection, I can offer other children that same sense of wonder.

It’s like whispering to them:

“Look how big the world is. One day, you’ll go and see it too.”

Everything Begins With Imagination

My travels always start before boarding a plane.
They start with imagination — the same imagination that children use when they color and explore.

If we teach them to look at the world with curiosity, we have already made them little travelers.
